The Law
Director for
the City of Oberlin is appointed by and
reports to the City
Council. He is the legal advisor of, and attorney and counsel for, the City and for all its officers and departments in all matters relating to their official duties and powers. As such, he
represents the City in all civil cases in
which it is a party. He is responsible for
the preparation of all contracts and other written instruments in which the city is concerned, and approves the form thereof.
The Law Director
is also the Prosecutor for the City of
Oberlin. Those duties include the
prosecution of all Misdemeanor offenses
occurring within the City of Oberlin and the
ten townships within the jurisdiction of
Oberlin Municipal Court.
The office of
the Law Director consists of the Law
Director, one Prosecutor, and one
Administrative Assistant.
