Underground Railroad Implementation Team
Purpose/Duties
a) Will serve as the primary advisory body to the City Council during the design, fundraising, construction, and implementation phases of the Underground Railroad Center;
b) In conjunction with City staff, the Oberlin Underground Railroad Implementation Team will be the conduit for communication between the architectural firm of Moody-Nolan, Oberlin City Council, the future financial supporters of the Underground Railroad Center , other stakeholders, and the citizenry of Oberlin;
c) Will have completed its appointed tasks when construction contracts are awarded, fundraising is complete, and recommendations regarding future Underground Railroad Center operations have been finalized for the Underground Railroad Center project.
The Underground Railroad Implementation Team meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month in City Hall Conference Room #2, unless otherwise noted.

NOACA Application
On Friday, March 12, the URC Implementation Team had its first group tour of the historic Gasholder Building – I think everyone agrees that the potential for this stabilization effort is going to pay off in so many ways: It’s a beautiful building with an enormous amount of potential and the group’s energy related to this project’s possibilities was palpable.
Currently, the group is in the midst of completing a team Strategic Action Plan, for our upcoming April 8th meeting, in order to establish the swiftest path toward progress and completion of this project (and in keeping with instructions from the Vision Council and the City Council to “do something now!”). With the stabilization plans completed by architects Moody-Nolan and ODOT-approved, we are currently awaiting word from NOACA as to our next steps in pursuing the transportation enhancement funds originally programmed for this project.
