It is the mission of the Office of the City Clerk to enable the public to participate in the legislative process, by providing accurate information and services in a timely and professional manner, enabling the public to make informed decisions affecting the quality of their lives.
The City Clerk’s Office is under the direction of Belinda B. Anderson, CMC, who serves at the pleasure of City Council, keeps its records, makes annual reports on Council proceedings and performs such other duties as specified in the Oberlin City Charter.
Belinda is a lifelong resident and an Oberlin College Alumna. Belinda earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk in 2009 and is currently enrolled in the Ohio and West Virginia Master Municipal Clerks Academy.
Belinda is a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks Association (IIMC), the Northeast Ohio Municipal Clerks Association (NEOMCA), and the Ohio Municipal Clerks Association (OMCA) where she serves as a City Representative of the Board and as a member of OMCA’s Policy and Procedure Committee.
Belinda also serves in various other capacities including chair of the Oberlin City Records Commission, and Record Custodian de facto.
