Fire Prevention and
Public Education The
Fire Inspection Bureau inspects all businesses, commercial, and industrial occupancies as well as schools and other public buildings. The goal is to inspect at least 2 time per year. In 2005, the bureau completed
296 inspections.
Fire and Life Safety
Through Public Education" is emphasized to
reduce the risk of major fire damage ever occurring. The Fire
Department teaches courses to residents of all ages. The Fire
Department also works closely with schools, conducting fire
prevention programs to 90% of all pre-school, kindergarten, first
and second grade classes in Oberlin.
