DEFINITION OF RECREATION
Activities which develop skills that provide the incentive, motivation, and means for spending leisure time constructively. As such, recreation must be concerned with the breadth and variety of activities: physical, social, artistic and learning.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Oberlin Recreation Department is to improve the quality of life for all residents of the Oberlin community by providing equal opportunity for a wide variety of leisure and cultural activities, special events, facilities, and services.This will include active and passive, structured and unstructured recreational opportunities.These will encourage health, fitness, relaxation, and enjoyment as well as a broad appreciation for our diverse community and the unique natural systems that we share. Our purpose is to work cooperatively with other appropriate entities to provide recreational opportunities forthe members of our community.
Permission to use parks for
special event can be obtained by
filling out a
Park Request Form
and submitting to the
Recreation Office.

Winter in Oberlin
The City of Oberlin is seeking proposals from qualified persons
or entities for the operation of a seasonal concession stand at the
City's Recreation Complex on West Hamilton Street.
