Don J Pease Memorial Bike Path
Rules & Regulations

The Don J Pease Memorial Bike Path hours of use will be from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 Midnight on Friday and Saturday.

All City of Oberlin Park rules and regulations shall apply.

The bike path is for people-powered activities only. The use of the path may include bicycling, walking, hiking, jogging, wheelchairs, snow skiing and skating. All motorized vehicles, all-purpose or all terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, off-trail activities and horses are prohibited.

The use of engine-powered miniature model toy airplanes, boats, cars and sirens or other noise-making devices is prohibited.

Repelling or rock climbing is prohibited.

No fires are permitted, except as may be authorized by the City for food preparation purposes only, and only in ares so designated by the City and in food preparation devices (such as grills and fire rings) as maybe provided by the City.

Activities that interfere with the normal flow of traffic or other path usage are prohibited.

Users must obey all signs and signals. Pedestrian have the right-of-way; cross traffic has the right-of-way at intersections. Any person passing another traveling in the same direction along the path shall clearly announce their intention before passing. No person shall pass another path user in a manner which endangers or causes inconvenience to himself/herself or other path users.

For enforcement purposes Section 521.04 of the Codified Ordinances, entitled Sidewalks Obstructions: damage or Injury, shall apply to use of the path.

Any and all exceptions to these rules and reglations will require written permission from the City Manager.

Any violation of these rules and regulations will result in the following penalties:

For the first offense: written warning.

For the Second offense: minor misdemeanor citation

For the third or any additional offense: arrest and third degree misdemeanor citation and impoundment and forfeiture of vehicle and/or equipment.

REGISTRATION Registration for programs will begin two weeks prior to start date. There will be on-sight registration at all City programs.
